The rules

Short enough to hold in your head.

How the game works

“Better” is up to you

We never judge whether a trade is an upgrade, and there’s no scoring by value. If both people want the swap, it counts. A chain that goes from a bike to a bread maker because you needed a bread maker is a perfectly good chain.

What can’t be traded

None of the following, no exceptions:

Not supported yet

Vehicles and property are out for now, along with anything that needs a title or deed to change hands legally. That’s a limitation of this early version rather than a judgement about the trade.

Event tickets are allowed only where the official transfer system does the handover, and the event date has to be shown on the item.

Meeting up

Trades happen between two people, in person, with no one in the middle. Meet somewhere public and busy. Look the thing over properly before you confirm the swap — once you both confirm, it’s done. Bring someone with you if that feels better. Trust your read on a situation; declining costs you nothing.

If something goes wrong, or someone behaves badly, report them. See the terms for what we do and don’t take responsibility for.
